This week we have finally printed the robot which is cut by the laser cutter out of silver acrylic. This took around 30 mins to print and 2 hours to prepare and make sure it is cut to size and this is always a great sight to see when it is done successfully. The Acrylic is a silver colour to go with the idea of space. This was a smart decision that was taken very well by the team. The rocket has now been decided to be made out of cardboard which is biodegradable and recyclable. This is helping the Eco-friendly scheme to make the planet greener. The LED's on the side of the robot will be changeable colour. As we were printing the design out we found there could be a problem of the screw holes being to large or small however this was seen after to be no problem as we fixed this.
I have not fully explained yet the reason for the name Andromeda. So we came up with this name because after learning about many different galaxy`s. We did a lot of research on Andromeda and this is the nearest galaxy to the milky way.
Next week we will be revealing the code we are using and how the components fit the case
